Joydeep Mitra

Joydeep Mitra is an Indian-born scholar and a Professor at the Michigan State University (MSU) in East Lansing and holds the title of MSU Foundation Professor of Electrical Engineering. He is the Director of the [https://www.egr.msu.edu/~mitraj/research/index.html Energy Reliability and Security (ERiSe) Laboratory] and a Senior Faculty Associate at the Institute of Public Utilities. Mitra also holds an honorary position as Distinguished Visiting Scientist at Sandia National Laboratories.

Mitra earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University, College Station, and his B.Tech. (Hons.) in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. His professional experience includes five years in industry and consulting, encompassing power system hardware installation and energy market modeling and simulation, as well as over two decades in academia.
