description | The development of technology and knowledge-based economy are ideal field for the development of remote work, which has especially become a trend in recent years. Although it has existed as a way of working since the nineties of the last century, it was less widely applied until the beginning of the COVID19 pandemic, when organizations around the world were forced to adapt to the measures by the governments of most countries to control the spread of the infection and change the previous way of working. The paper used the method of content analysis, as a scientific method for the qualitative processing of the available literature in this area and the analysis and synthesis of the knowledge it contains. The results of analysis showed that this way of working enables better access to talent, increased productivity, lower costs, greater individual flexibility, and a better employee experience. Working from home has another side of the medal, which refers to the alienation of employees, disruption of cohesion within the organization, the problem of controlling the work of employees, etc. Organizing and managing this way of working is not always easy for either workers or managers and requires additional commitment and effort. The topic is particularly topical due to the fact that this way of working is becoming a real trend among the younger generations and something that in the future will not be seen only as a possibility, but as a normal part of a job and it is necessary to find the most ideal models of its functioning. |
