description The observation and the analysis of the spectators’ behavior entering a cinema, choosing their places then releasing them at the end of the meeting, made possible to highlight many common characteristics. The choice and the occupation of a seat don’t concern the search for a technical optimum of viewing of the film’s projection. A differentiation of certain behaviors can be observed according to the composition of the public which varies itself according to the room, film or the hour of meeting, but the interactions mimetic between spectators is undeniable, and the recurring mechanisms of influence, independent of public’s composition, and can be structured by the architecture and the space of the room itself. The main part of behaviors for the choice and the release of the seats first obey rules and strategies of occupation of a space and a territory, strongly conditioned by the age and especially the sex of the spectator.
