Summary:This article presents the scientific work of Ismaël Boulliau who was, at the same time and in turn, mathematician, astronomer, astrologer, meteorologist, but above all a scientific intermediary who exchanged an important correspondence with the greatest scholars and intellectuals of his time. It is mainly based on the thesis of the Dutch Henricus Johannes Maria Nellen translated 14 years later into French, on the occasion of the $3^{\rm rd}$ centenary of the death of Ismaël Boulliau.
