Summary:This article provides an integrated summary of recent changes in output, consumer prices, employment, and household finances. It highlights changes in the economic data during the first half of 2024 and into the summer months. The article provides information on how economic conditions have changed as borrowing costs continue to evolve. The report is based on data that are publicly available as of September 27, 2024. Monthly information on government, business, and financial market developments is available at Canadian Economic News (Statistics Canada n.d.). An integrated data module designed to support the analysis of current economic conditions, which includes monthly summaries for selected economic indicators, is available at Canadian Economic Tracker(Statistics Canada n.d.).
