| Summary: | This paper approaches to the French literature presence within the organization - genesis and autonomy conquest - of Brazilian children's literature. It aims at understanding translation practices as well as Sophie de Ségur's books adaptations, like Herberto Sales' workin Edições de Ouro. To do that, the study searches for a renewing of literary historiography document sources, considering an analysis method based on sociology and publishing history.It examines authors and editors' trajectories, strategies, and positions, as well as the creationof libraries for children. |
