Summary: | This article aims at portraying the characteristics of a good teacher through “Letter to a Teacher” – the work of Lorenzo Milani and eight boys of “Barbiana” – from an Asian perspective. Beyond this discourse, the analysis has implied that a good teacher (1) gives constructive feedback, (2) has knowledge, (3) uses marks properly, (4) balances and satisfi es learners’ needs, (5) looks into the roots of problems, (6) cares for the learners, (7) limits inequality, (8) thinks critically and is responsible, and (9) communicates well in most cases.
