description | The study examined the work environment and performance of employees in Rubanda District. The study was guided by three objectives which were: to assess the work environment factors that influence staff performance in Rubanda district, to examine the effect of working environment on employee performance in Rubanda district, to identify the factors that affect employee performance in Rubanda district. A targeted population of 50 respondents was considered for the study. Both simple random and purposive sampling techniques were used in identifying the study sample size. The methods that were used in data collection included questionnaires, observation, and interviews. Data collected was edited, coded, entered into the computer, and analyzed with Excel, a Microsoft statistical package, the results were presented in tables. Based on results from the study about the work environment factors that influence staff performance in Rubanda district and these included air factor, temperature factor, sound factor, space factor, physical work environment, psychological work. The study findings indicated that 3(6%) of the respondents mentioned air factors among the Work environment factors that influence staff performance. Respondents agreed that air quality is a critical aspect of the work environment that affects employee health and performance. Poor indoor air quality can lead to health issues such as respiratory problems and allergies, which in turn can reduce productivity. The study findings further revealed the effect of the working environment on employee performance in the Rubanda district and these included work environment is the physical location and the environment of the workplace, workplace Flexibility, un-conducive work environment creating a feeling of un-fulfillment, psychological work Environment, the physical layout of the workplace, excessive noise can lead to distractions, stress, optimal room temperature enhances productivity and reduces stress, social Support, and Engagement. According to objective three, the study findings showed the factors that affect employee performance in Rubanda district and these included motivation, organizational culture, organizational Commitment, employees don't perform in a vacuum, employees must be qualified to perform a job in order to meet expectations, technical training by employees’ affects employee performance in most companies, organizations without clear goals are more likely to spend time on tasks, morale and company culture are both difficult to define but employees. The study findings concluded by showing the factors that affect employee performance in Rubanda district and these included motivation, organizational culture, organizational Commitment, employees don't perform in a vacuum, employees must be qualified to perform a job to meet expectations, technical training by employees’ affects employee performance in most companies, organizations without clear goals are more likely to spend time on tasks, morale and company culture are both difficult to define but employees |
