Summary:The study examined the importance of riddles to the development of morals and culture among the Banyankole-Bakiga in Rukungiri District. It was guided by the following study objectives; identifying the features of culture developed and the role of riddles in the community of Banyankole and the Bakiga, examining the view of community members about riddles as a literary element, and analyzing the role of riddles to the development of culture and morals among the students and make suggestions. The researcher questioned the speakers of the Runyankole-Rukiga language living in the area who helped him to get more information about his topic. The researcher questioned the speakers of the Runyankole-Rukiga language at least ten different types of riddles especially students, teachers, and elders about the victims of the language. This is because most of them were given riddles by their former parents. In data sources, there are two types, Basic data and secondary data. The researcher also used various books in particular, textbooks, and newsletters, in order to record the data he expected to get. The study findings also showed the strategies on how riddles must be improved and used among Banyankole-Bakiga in Rukungiri district as it included sensitizing and educating people (young citizens), having good communication, setting up other standards needed to uplift the use of riddles in different communities. The researcher asked respondents of Kebisoni town council about the impacts of riddles in daily life and was presented with a comprehensive overview of how they develop morals and culture. In this cultural feature, the technicians used their brains to think about the answers that were to determine the paradox that was given to a respondent for the high school student. The study recommended that young and old people should always have gatherings at least to learn about riddles and other tradition-related values so that they can improve these young children`s knowledge about the use of riddles and their impact on their day-to-day lives.
