Summary:The study sought to examine stakeholder engagement and the quality of roads in Kabale district: A case study of Kamuganguzi sub-county. The study objectives were; to determine the effect of stakeholders’ planning on the Project implementation of roads in Kamuganguzi sub-county, to assess the effect of stakeholders' monitoring and evaluation on the Project implementation of roads in the Kamuganguzi sub-county, and to establish the effect of resource mobilization in the project implementation of roads in Kabale district. A sample size of 50 respondents was used for the study. The researcher used a variety of sampling which included: Purposive and random sampling. Data was collected from primary and secondary sources using questionnaires and interviews. After collecting data, the researcher organized a well-answered questionnaire, and the data was edited and sorted for the next stage. The data was presented in table form with frequencies and percentages. The study findings revealed that the sample constituted of 50 respondents of which 70% were males and the 30% remaining were females. This implies that males are the majority. This implies that most respondents were men due to the societal beliefs that males are hardworking and hence capable of stakeholder involvement and engagement of roads. Results of the study revealed the relationship between stakeholder planning and project implementation of roads in Kamuganguzi sub-county thus P = .000 which is less than 0.01 as the level of significance and Pearson coefficient of correlation r =.315 which is high. This also implies that there is a positive direction associated with the effect of stakeholder planning and project implementation of roads in Kamuganguzi sub-county. Results further confirm that resource mobilization have an effect on the implementation of roads in Kamuganguzi sub-county with a Beta value of 0.343 at a 95% level of confidence. Therefore resource mobilization has a significant effect on the implementation of roads in Kamuganguzi sub-county Kabale district. The study concludes that the reasons for project planning include developing a strategy that would deliver the project goals and that the critical dimensions of time, cost, quality, and scope can never be attained if a project plan is not in place. The study therefore recommends that the community should play a critical role in decision-making because they are the beneficiaries of the projects and know well that projects are beneficial to them.
