Characterization of the genomic landscape of canine diffuse large B-cell lymphoma reveals recurrent H3K27M mutations linked to progression-free survival by Anna Darlene van der Heiden, Raphaela Pensch, Sophie Agger, Heather L. Gardner, William Hendricks, Victoria Zismann, Shukmei Wong, Natalia Briones, Bryce Turner, Karin Forsberg-Nilsson, Cheryl London, Kerstin Lindblad-Toh, Maja Louise Arendt

    Published 2025-02-01
“…In particular, we identified hotspot mutations in two histone genes, H3C8, and LOC119877878, resulting in H3K27M alterations predicted to dysregulate gene expression. Finally, a survival analysis revealed that H3K27M mutations in H3C8 were associated with increased hazard ratios for progression-free survival. …”

cigFacies: a massive-scale benchmark dataset of seismic facies and its application by H. Gao, X. Wu, X. Sun, M. Hou, M. Hou, H. Gao, G. Wang, H. Sheng

    Published 2025-02-01
“…Finally, we use the benchmark dataset to train a network and then apply it to two 3-D seismic data for automatic seismic facies classification. The predictions are highly consistent with expert interpretation results, demonstrating that the diversity and representativeness of our benchmark dataset are sufficient to train a network that can be generalized well in seismic facies classification across field data. …”

The mediating role of social support in self-management and quality of life in patients with liver cirrhosis by Ying Zhang, LeYao Xiao, Qian Liu, XinYi Zhang, MingDan Li, YaLi Xu, Mei Dai, Fei Zhao, YouShu Shen, Jordan Tovera Salvador, Ping Yang

    Published 2025-02-01
“…Data were analyzed using SPSS and PROCESS software. (1) Patients in the decompensated stage of liver cirrhosis and those classified in Child–Pugh class B/C had lower scores in self-management, quality of life, and social support compared to patients in the compensated stage of liver cirrhosis and those classified in Child–Pugh Class A. (2) Quality of life was positively correlated with both social support and self-management (r = 0.668, r = 0.665, both P < 0.001). (3) Mediation analysis showed that self-management had a direct predictive effect on quality of life. Social support had a mediating effect between self-management and quality of life, with an indirect effect of 0.489 (95% CI: 0.362, 0.629), accounting for 40.58% of the total effect. (4) Exercise frequency and malnutrition risk assessment were independent influencing factors for social support, self-management, and quality of life. (5) In the regression model, after excluding confounding factors, Model I explained 14% of the variance in quality of life due to control variables, Model II explained 49.5%, and when social support was added, Model III explained 56.9% of the variance in quality of life. …”

Hydrogen and hydrogen sulphide in volcanic gases: abundance, processes, and atmospheric fluxes by Aiuppa, Alessandro, Moussallam, Yves

    Published 2023-09-01
“…The high H$_{2}$ concentrations (and low H$_{2}$S/SO$_{2}$ compositions, of ${\sim }$0.1 on average) in high-temperature (${>}$1000 °C) magmatic gases are overall consistent with those predicted thermodynamically assuming external redox buffering operated by the coexisting silicate melt, at oxygen fugacities ranging from ${\Delta }$FMQ $-$1 to 0 (non-arc volcanoes) to ${\Delta }$FMQ 0 to ${+}$2 (arc volcanoes) (where ${\Delta }$FMQ is oxygen fugacity expresses as a log unit difference relative to the Fayalite–Magnetite–Quartz oxygen fugacity buffer). …”
