Suicide following the death of a sibling: a nationwide follow-up study from Sweden
Published 2013-04-01“…Associations with other main causes of death—such as external other than suicide, cardiovascular diseases or cancer—were generally much smaller and statistically not significant in either sex. We found no clear support for a specific time pattern according to time since a sibling's death. Conclusions Our study provided evidence for suicide risk associated with the death of a sibling at adult age, revealing that bereaved persons’ risk of suicide is higher when siblings die from suicide, even when adjusting for intrafamily correlation in death risks.…”

Ultrasound-detected osteophytes predict the development of radiographic and clinical features of hand osteoarthritis in the same finger joints 5 years later
Published 2017-08-01“…Our aim was to explore whether ultrasound-detected osteophytes (in radiographically and clinically normal finger joints) predicted the development of radiographic and clinical hand OA 5 years later. Methods We included finger joints without radiographic OA (Kellgren-Lawrence grade (KLG)=0; n=301) or no clinical bony enlargements (n=717) at baseline and examined whether ultrasound-detected osteophytes predicted incident radiographic OA (KLG ≥1, osteophytes or joint space narrowing (JSN)) or incident clinical bony enlargement (dependent variables) in the same joints 5 years later. …”

Allergic conditions and risk of rheumatoid arthritis: a Swedish case–control study
Published 2022-02-01“…Objective To determine the association of allergic conditions with incident rheumatoid arthritis (RA), especially in relation to smoking history and anti-citrullinated peptide antibody (ACPA) status. Methods This case–control study included 3515 incident RA cases and 5429 matched controls from the Epidemiological Investigation of Rheumatoid Arthritis study 1995 to 2016, including questionnaire-based information on eight allergic conditions composed from a list of 59 unique allergies.
