Subtraction of the t t ¯ $$ t\overline{t} $$ contribution in tW b ¯ $$ tW\overline{b} $$ production at the one-loop level
Published 2025-01-01“…We propose a new scheme to subtract the t t ¯ $$ t\overline{t} $$ contributions by power expansion of the squared amplitude in the resonant region. In order to cancel the infra-red divergences of the loop amplitudes, a widely used method is to introduce the dipole counter-terms, an ingredient in calculations of the full next-to-leading order QCD corrections. …”

The diagnostic value of the combined application of blood lipid metabolism markers and interleukin-6 in osteoporosis and osteopenia
Published 2025-02-01“…FFAs, IL-6, and age were negatively correlated with osteocalcin in males and females. (3) According to the T scores for the lumbar spine, the TC, ApoA1, ApoB, HDL-C, LDL-C, FFA, and IL-6 levels in the osteoporosis group and the TC, ApoB, LDL-C, and FFA levels in the osteopenia group were significantly greater than those in the normal bone mass group. Additionally, the osteoporosis group presented substantially higher levels of ApoA1, FFAs, and IL-6 than the osteopenia group. (4) IL-6 was positively correlated with FFAs, while a negative correlation was observed with TC, ApoA1, ApoB, HDL-C, and LDL-C. (5) The ROC curve revealed that the areas under the curve (AUCs) of TC, FFAs, IL-6, ApoA1, and the ApoA1/ApoB ratio for predicting osteoporosis or osteopenia were 0.634, 0.713, 0.670, 0.628, and 0.516, respectively, whereas the AUC of the combination of TC, FFAs, IL-6, and ApoA1 was 0.846, and the AUC of the combination of TC, FFAs, IL-6, and the ApoA1/ApoB ratio was 0.842. …”

Physically based modelling of glacier evolution under climate change in the tropical Andes
Published 2025-02-01“…The glaciers in the tropical Andes represent some of the least observed and modelled glaciers in the world, making their trajectories under climate change uncertain. Studies to date have typically adopted empirical models of the surface energy balance and ice flow to simulate glacier evolution under climate change, but these may miss important non-linearities in future glacier mass changes. …”

Dimuon and ditau production in photon-photon collisions at next-to-leading order in QED
Published 2025-02-01“…The NLO terms are found to modify the total fiducial cross sections by up to 5%, increasing the tails of the dilepton acoplanarity and transverse momentum distributions, and depleting by up to 15% the yields at high masses, with respect to the leading-order predictions including the very small virtuality of the colliding photons. …”

Understanding the Broad-line Region of Active Galactic Nuclei with Photoionization. I. The Moderate-accretion Regime
Published 2025-01-01“…Over three decades of reverberation mapping (RM) studies on local broad-line active galactic nuclei (AGNs) have measured reliable black hole (BH) masses for >100 AGNs. These RM measurements reveal a significant correlation between the Balmer broad-line region (BLR) size and AGN optical luminosity (the R – L relation). …”
