Real-World Analysis of Weight Gain and Body Mass Index Increase Among Patients with HIV-1 Using Antiretroviral Regimen Containing Tenofovir Alafenamide, Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumara...
Published 2022-02-01“…**Conclusions:** Among a population of patients predominantly initiating integrase strand transfer inhibitors, increases in weight and BMI post-ART initiation were common and appeared to be higher and occur more rapidly among patients receiving TAF 25 mg compared with lower TAF doses or other nucleosides. When considering long-term health consequences, weight gain is an important factor to consider when selecting an ART regimen.…”

The predicted value for venous thromboembolism based on a modified model of caprini combined with fasting blood glucose and D-dimer: a retrospective study
Published 2025-02-01“…Abstract Background The Caprini risk assessment model (RAM) is a classical score that evaluates the risk of developing venous thromboembolism (VTE) aimed at patients with lower extremity fractures (LEF). However, the influencing factors of RAM pay more attention to clinical characteristic variables and recognized thrombophilia markers such as prothrombin, while ignoring the influence of other laboratory indicators on thrombosis. …”

The Impact of Lockdown on Air Quality in Pakistan during the COVID-19 Pandemic Inferred from the Multi-sensor Remote Sensed Data
Published 2021-02-01“…This is due to the reduction in local emissions related to the lockdown measures taken in the control of pandemic. However, the ozone (O3) concentrations witnessed an increase to a lower extent as 11.39%, 5.78%, and 4.74% in KPK, BP, and IBR, respectively attributed to rising in solar radiation intensity and temperature in hot summers, and decrease in NOx levels during the study period.…”

Divergent thinking in groups during cold-water immersion is impaired by cold stress not the cold shock response
Published 2025-02-01“…To date, research shows that executive functioning is generally impaired by intense, acute stress, which implies the ability to think through potential actions to maximize survival would also be impaired by the cold shock response.MethodsTo examine whether the severity of cold shock response impairs higher-level thinking in a group, 29 active duty service members completed a group format Divergent Association Task (DAT; 4–5 per group) prior to and during a 13-min cold-water immersion (water temperature: 1.3°C, air temperature: −2.7°C).ResultsResults showed no relationship between cold shock response magnitude, indexed by peak heart rate, and DAT performance. However, results indicated that those with lower skin temperatures performed worse on the DAT.DiscussionResults suggest that the ability to engage in divergent thinking is relatively preserved in the critical ~10-min window although skin cooling may bias attention toward the cold stress impacting task performance. …”
